ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A suspected drunken driver has been arrested just outside of Albuquerque after deputies say he was found with his pants down - literally.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that 45-year-old Joseph Atencio was arrested Monday following a crash in Albuquerque's South Valley.

According to a criminal complaint, Atencio had crashed a blue BMW, threw his pants on the ground then fled the scene.

A Bernalillo County Sheriff's deputy says he saw Atencio "stumbling" from the crash site.

The complaint says Atencio denied driving and crashing the BMW, then told the deputy he had left his pants "down the street."

Atencio is being held without bond since the DWI arrest was a violation of his conditions of release for pending domestic violence charges. It was unclear if he had an attorney.
