It's worth mentioning

Friday we saw a couple "upsetting" outcomes in high school football.  Hats off to Eldorado who outplayed their rival La Cueva to the tune of 21-7.  Quarterback Zach Gentry ran for two touchdowns and threw another.  Remember Eldorado entered the playoffs with a losing record.

Volcano Vista eliminated number one Rio Rancho 25-24, handing the Rams just their second loss of the season.  Many people thought this could be the year for Rio Rancho but the Hawks had other plans.

Sandia won a shootout over Mayfield 35-28.  The two teams exchanged scores all night.  The Matadors have really risen to the challenge this year.

Though not an upset, I have to give a shout out to Las Cruces for putting up a 70 spot on Clovis.  I don't think that's ever happened before.  Running back JJ Granados scored an unbelievable 8 touchdowns.
