Man hit by police cruiser faces judge

The man who was hit by a police patrol car Friday while running from police appeared in court Saturday.

Matthew McClelland is facing several charges including running from police.. And driving a stolen car.

Someone at the Smith's on Tramway and Central called police on Friday saying the 21-year-old was acting suspicious.

Police say when officers tried talking to him he rammed their patrol car and drove off.

McClelland drove onto Tramway causing an accident then took off on foot.

The criminal complaint claims McClelland ran in front of the officer's car and was hit.

Police say the vehicle CcClelland was in was stolen and had drugs inside.
