NE Heights apartment evacuated after bomb threat

A possible bomb was destroyed in the Northeast Heights Saturday night.
The device was spotted by a tenant at the apartment and they called the police.
The witness said there looked to be a car battery with a timer attached to it.
The Albuquerque Police Department's bomb unit responded to the Fung Lin apartments and immediately evacuated the apartment.
Barbara Collins and her roommate were out of the apartment when it was evacuated, and Collins said she was worried she would lose everything.
"The first thing I thought was I should've gotten insurance for my apartment," Collins said. "I had all my stuff and I thought, hopefully it doesn't blow up because we would have to start over."
One of the things in her apartment was a seven-month-old puppy named Porkchop.
"That was terrible. When we first got here, we were like can you go get it. We asked another officer, can you go get it," she said.
APD sent out a robot to inspect the device and determined the bomb was not real.
"We heard a pop. There was two pops. It was like boom, boom," Collins said.
After police cleared the scene, Collins and her roommate were allowed back to their apartment to find their puppy safe.
Police said no one one injured and are still working on suspects in the case.
