Cudi man pleads guilty in fatal DWI crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A northwestern New Mexico man faces up to 8 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter for a fatal DWI crash outside Shiprock.

The U.S. attorney's office in Albuquerque says 20-year-old Jervis Wilson of Cudi entered the plea agreement with federal prosecutors on Tuesday.

He admitting driving drunk on March 2 on U.S. Highway 64 and hitting two vehicles before slamming into a truck driven by 52-year-old Herman Willeto.

Willeto died on impact. Wilson's blood-alcohol content was measured at .23 percent less than three hours after the wreck, nearly three times the legal limit. A sentencing date has not been set. Wilson has been jailed since shortly after the accident.
