The state Health Department is warning New Mexicans that if they haven't been vaccinated against whooping cough yet, they should be.

The department says this year alone, more than 700 cases have been reported and two children have died. That's why the department is launching a public awareness campaign.

Billboards are expected to pop up around the state and as well as public service announcements on television.

It's in an effort to remind people to get vaccinated soon.
