NMHU athletics official faces sexual assault charges

The New Mexico Highlands University associate director of athletics is accused of sexual assault.

Our media partners at the Santa Fe New Mexican report Gavino Archuleta is on administrative leave.

An athletic department employee is accusing Archuleta of making unwanted sexual advances towards him.

The employee also alleges Archuleta touched his genital region earlier this month.

Archuleta has been athletics director since 2008.
