A man accused of killing a 10-year-old Clovis boy was attacked in jail by the boy's uncle.

Noe Torres was taken to the Curry County jail Thursday.

Torres had been on the run for six years before he was finally arrested in Mexico back in January.

Torres is accused of shooting at a Clovis home in 2005. 10-year old Carlos Perez was killed.

The Clovis News Journal reports Torres was in a holding cell near the boy's uncle, Richard Silva.

Law enforcement officials told the paper that Silva punched Torres repeatedly.

Torres was not seriously hurt.
