The New Mexico Department of Transportation will close one lane of eastbound Interstate 40 near Moriarty on Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m.

The closure, which will take place between mile marker 199 and 201.5, will last through 4 p.m. The closure is happening so workers can drill into the asphalt and extract samples for testing. NMDOT urges motorists to proceed through the work zone with caution, observe traffic control signing, and reduce speed to posted limits.

For information on other construction and maintenance projects, visit the NMDOT road advisory website at NMRoads.com or current traffic conditions at KOB.com.
