The call brought Jamie Watson to tears. On the other end, strangers were telling her they wanted to give her kids a Christmas this year.

A local crew from 95.1 radio showed up with gift cards to various stores and lots of toys for the Watson's daughter and their one-and-a-half-year-old son.

"This is my son's first Christmas, and I was really worried about what to do for him," Jamie said. "We didn't even know if it was going to happen."

A relative and an employer of the Watsons took their story to nationally syndicated radio hosts Johnjay and Rich.

Every year, the hosts help families through their "Christmas Wish" program.

"They weren't planning to have a Christmas at all this year, so we were glad to help them out and their kids out. That's the most important thing, we want to make sure the kids are taken care of as well," said 95.1's Janae Martinez.

The Watsons haven't had electricity since Spetember. Johnjay and Rich paid their utility bill and caught them up on their rent.

Keith Watson said he's been looking for a better job but it's been a struggle.

"It's exciting to know we have family and friends that really care," Jamie said.
