Vehicle vs. pedestrian crash lands man in hospital

A man is in critical condition Friday night after being hit by a car in southwest Albuquerque.
Witnesses told police the man was walking in the middle of traffic on Central Ave. near Unser.
The man was hit just before 7 p.m.
He was rushed to the hospital with severe head injuries and two broken legs.
Police are still investigating the crash, but say the driver will likely not face any charges.
Eastbound Central at San Pablo is expected to be closed until 11 p.m.
