The University of New Mexico Board of Regents has approved a master development plan that could bring businesses and jobs to the currently empty lot near Lobo Village.

The regents approved the plan Tuesday morning.

It could eventually lead to restaurants and shops near the student housing development.

About 900 students live at Lobo Village, located relatively far from campus near Avenida Cesar Chavez and I-25.
