Albuquerque radio stations collect teddy bears for Conn. shooting victims

Local radio stations in Albuquerque are coming together in hopes of bringing smiles to kids in Newtown, Connecticut.

Clear Channel radio stations here in Albuquerque are teaming up with a radio station in Hartford, Connecticut to collect new stuffed animals fo the relatives and survivors of the school shooting Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary.

If you donate, you are encouraged to leave a message of hope with your gift.

The colllection point is at 5411 Jefferson Ave NE until Friday December 21, at 10 a.m. Donation hours are from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

For residents in or near Santa Fe, the collection point is at the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office, located at 35 Camino Justicia. Donation hours there are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 20.

After Friday, the stuffed animals will then be shipped off to Hartford, Connecticut. where the sister station in Hartford will then deliver the bears to the children of Sandy Hook Elementary and the brothers and sisters and sons and daughters of those tragically killed.
