An Albuquerque man accused of holding two people hostage at knife point was sentenced Wednesday to 33 and a half years in prison.

In September 2011, Jeremiah Irvin, 29, walked into a hotel room at the Budget Host Inn on Central avenue. Irvin threatened two people who were staying in the room with a knife and demanded drugs and money.

A jury convicted Irvin of two counts of kidnapping, one count of robbery, one count of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

Irvin is a three-time habitual offender.
