A high schooler is at a local hospital Thursday evening following threats the student made at an Albuquerque school.

Albuquerque police tell KOB Eyewitness News 4 a student at Volcano Vista High School made threats to shoot others.

No immediate threat has been identified, but the student has been suspended.

Police say the student was taken to a local hospital by their parents for a psychiatric evaluation.

All this week we've been telling you about school threats - or rumors of them.

Albuquerque Public Schools officials say the Connecticut shootings and the Mayan calendar prediction have fueled gossip.

Seven Manzano High School students were suspended this week for spreading rumors.

The district dealt with a more concerning threat back in September at Tony Hillerman Middle School. School officials said in two students were planning to kill others and themselves.

And in October McKinley Middle School was evacuated after a student said he had a bomb in his backpack.
