KOB Eyewitness News 4's media partners at the Santa Fe New Mexican report two witnesses in the Juan Cordova case said they were coerced by the Rio Arriba County Sheriff's Office.

Ivory Martinez and Timmy Deaguero both claim they never met Cordova before the trial.

Martinez claims she doesn't remember Cordova driving the truck involved on the night of the alleged crime, but recorded testimony shows her saying he did.

Deaguero says he had a drug problem at the time of the alleged crime and couldn't remember many details.

Both told prosecutors deputies said they would go to jail if they didn't say they were with Cordova.

Cordova is accused of being drunk while he hit and killed a motorcyclist last year.

Rio Arriba County Sheriff Tommy Rodella is expected to take the stand next week.
