Sunport holiday travel a breeze

The Sunport in Albuquerque moved passengers in and out Saturday in smooth fashion.
Officials said there were no major delays or cancellations, a good thing with Christmas being less than three days away.
Passengers said their experience at the Sunport was a breeze.
"When I first came here it was very easy. The airport was really laid out and it was quick," Ellie Heston said, who was headed back home to Seattle.
"I mean, it's going pretty smooth. Everything is going fine," Brandon Wade said, who is traveling back home to California.
As for future storms, there could be weather on Christmas Eve, but Sunport officials said there has to be significant weather to cause any cancellations or delays.
One passenger and his family, headed to Portland, OR, came to the Sunport early just in case of any surprises.
"We're not leaving until 10:15, and it's not even 8pm yet, so we came real early, thinking we'd need to get here early. But, yeah, Southwest has no wait whatsoever," Jeff Parsons said.
One bit of inconvenience for the Sunport is when the long-term parking shuts down the day after Christmas. The lot will go under construction in January. Passengers can park for the same rates at an alternative lot on Girard, east of the terminal.
