APD catches serial car thief

Albuquerque police have caught a serial car thief who is also accused of trying to run over four police officers.
Police say Joshua Herrera is well known for stealing cars, driving them around until they're out of gas and then parking them near his home in Carnuel.
Police say when they caught Herrera parking stolen car last week he nearly hit four different officers who lunged out of the way of the vehicle he was driving as he tried to escape.
He's charged with four counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon, among other charges.
