Albuquerque police swarmed Coronado Center Sunday afternoon chasing after a suspicious van.

The incident tied up traffic, left an officer injured and several vehicles damaged.

Police say the van was in the parking lot in the southeast corner of the center at about 2 pm.

Police tried stopping the driver after finding the van had a stolen license plate.

The driver took off when police tried stopping her.

The driver hopped a curb, ran through a chain surrounding the center and ran into traffic smashing into several vehicles.

The van came to a rest in the middle of traffic as the suspects, a man and a woman, ran away.

An officer injured his arm or foot during the foot chase, police said.

Both people were caught. Police tasered the man because he was resisting arrest, police said.

Police also found a gun nearby.

The man has been arrested and booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center.
