Last minute Christmas shoppers hit the malls

Those who hit the stores Monday for last minute holiday shopping encountered long lines, but kids with last minute Christmas wishes for Santa may have waited in some of the longest lines of all.
Coronado Center was packed with crowds of people while the clock was ticking and the pressure was on to find the perfect gift.
"Strategy is to try to surprise her but I couldn't because she was wearing her blue diamond ring, and I had to match the blue diamonds for her earrings," one man said, with his wife inside Zales.
"I love it, it's great because I get to wear them out of here if I want to," the wife said, of her new earrings.
Stressed out shoppers took breaks at the food court or with a quick back massage.
But little ones were on a mission too, and waited in line for an hour or more to see Santa.
"It's a tradition," one woman said, with her one-year-old granddaughter in hand. "I've got her mom's picture with Santa, this is her first Christmas with Santa, so we're going to compare them on Christmas day."
When eager children in line were asked what they want for Christmas, one boy replied, "a puppy dog...black with green spots." Another girl said she wanted, "an American Girl Doll," while her sister wanted the Red CD from Taylor Swift."
Some kids could not remember what they had written on their list.
But shoppers who had time to spare since they had already finished their gift list had one final wish for those still trying to find the perfect gift.
"Hopefully they get it done," one woman, who finished her shopping a month ago, said.
