ABQ BioPark workers have found several ducks have recently been hit with blow darts.

They said there are now three ducks that fly between the ponds at the zoo, the Botanic Garden, and Tingley Beach that have darts stuck in them.

One duck has a dart through the beak, and the other two through their necks.  BioPark Director Rick Janser said they are working to catch the ducks to remove the darts.  They are also working to find whoever is doing it.

"Since these are migratory birds, it is a federal offense. What they're doing is against the law," Janser said.  "If they are caught, they will face federal prosecution."

BioPark veterinarian Ralph Zimmerman said the ducks do not seem to be seriously injured, but they also are not sure if more ducks have been hit that are injured or killed.

If you see anything, call the BioPark at 505-768-2000 or Albuquerque Police.
