ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A man who led police on a chase through an Albuquerque mall parking lot as pedestrians dodged behind parked cars now faces a federal charge.

Authorities say an arrest warrant was issued Friday for 24-year-old Justin Cordova for a felon in possession of a firearm.

The warrant was issued by an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives after it was determined that Cordova had a stolen firearm and had allegedly committed several burglaries in recent days.

Authorities say Cordova will be turned over to federal agents upon his release on the state charges.

The charges stem from a pursuit that ended last Sunday when Cordova crashed a stolen van into three vehicles stopped at a traffic light near the Coronado Mall in northeast Albuquerque.
