A former congressional candidate was in court Saturday morning accused of slashing a political opponent's tires.
Gary Smith ran against fellow Republican Janice Arnold-Jones for New Mexico's First Congressional District until a judge took him off the ballot for not having enough signatures.
Surveillance video from Arnold-Jones' house shows a man, which appears to be Smith, puncturing the tires to two vehicles in her driveway.
Smith, when speaking with KOB Eyewitness News 4 reporter Chris Ramirez, denied the allegations.
The judge kept his bond at $5,000.
Albuquerque police said four other people who worked on Arnold Jones' campaign also got their tires slashed. Police will be looking to see if Smith is tied to those cases.
