Katie's Law awaits Obama's signature

It's now up to President Obama, to sign a bill named after a murdered New Mexico State University student.
A national version of "Katie's Law" has been approved by Congress.
It would encourage states to collect DNA, from people arrested or charged with serious crimes.
The law is named after NMSU student Katie Sepich. She was murdered in 2003.
Her killer was identified through DNA evidence.
Members of New Mexico's Congressional delegation pushed for the national bill.
Gov. Susana Martinez was the prosecutor in Sepich's murder case, and she fought hard for Katie's law in New Mexico.
