UPDATED: Winter storm causing difficult conditions on NM highways

LAS VEGAS, N.M. (AP) - Difficult driving conditions are reported Monday on numerous highways in northern New Mexico due to snow and ice.

Crews are plowing, salting and cindering Interstate 40 in the Tucumcari area where several inches of snow has accumulated. Workers are also clearing snow on Interstate 25 between Watrous and Colmor.

Other highways with difficult conditions reported by the New Mexico Department of Transportation include U.S. 64 near Taos Pass, New Mexico 38 from Bobcat Pass to Eagle Nest and New Mexico 104 between Las Vegas and Tucumcari.

The NMDOT is also reporting difficult driving conditions on I-25 from mile marker 299 to mile marker 333 (Glorieta to Bernal), where the road is snow packed and icy and visibility is po
