ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Parts of New Mexico are ending 2012 with a little bit of snow on the ground.

The last storm of the year has brought snow to some areas along with freezing temperatures and treacherous driving conditions.

State highway crews started Monday by spreading salt and cinder on the state's two major interstates and other roadways in northern and eastern New Mexico.

Employees say the parking lot at Pino's Truck Stop in Las Vegas, N.M., is full of drivers who don't want to chance it.

Despite a few inches in the mountains and a trace in Albuquerque, forecasters with the National Weather Service say the storm wasn't enough to erase the first 11 months of the year.

Meteorologist Jennifer Palucki says 2012 has been the warmest and second driest year on record for the state.
