If you are looking for a place to offload your Christmas tree - listen up.

The City of Albuquerque's free tree-cycling program kicks off Wednesday.

People can drop off their trees at the Montessa Park Convenience Center, the Eagle Rock Convenience Center or the Ladera Golf Course.

The city will collect the trees between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The trees will be turned into mulch that people will be allowed to take home for free.

The program runs through Sunday, Jan. 6th.

The city of Rio Rancho is also starting a free recycling program Wednesday.

You can drop off your tree at the Rio Rancho Sports Complex at 3501 High Resort Boulevard to be recycled.

The city - along with PNM - will also be turning the trees into mulch that residents can pick up for free.

That program will run until January 18th.
