Carlsbad to offer new classes on journalism

CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico State University-Carlsbad is making some changes for the new year in hopes of livening up students and their course load.

The Carlsbad Current-Argus reports that NMSU Carlsbad will begin offer a journalism course focusing on media and society.

In addition, the school will also offer course on criminal investigations, comprised of half lecture and half hands-on lab work with crime scene equipment.

Other courses for the spring semester include music appreciation and the history of jazz. School officials say most classes allow 25 students.
