Torrance County residents meet to discuss shooting range

There wasn't a lot room inside the Torrance county courthouse this morning, as the possible expansion of a shooting range has a lot of people fired up.
People crowded in for their chance to weigh in on the expansion of a shooting range.
“We have two children. So obviously, we don't want to live next to a shooting range,” Jason Rullo, a concerned parent said. “We don't want to live right next to a shooting range.”
KOB Eyewitness News 4 was the first to tell you about Founders Ranch earlier this month.
The private shooting club now wants to allow the public to come in and shoot, but some people say they're already dealing with noise and they're afraid it's only going to get worse.
“You could hear it in your home. You could hear it with your doors shut. You could hear it when you go on a walk. You could hear it in your yard. Sitting on the deck, there's no listening to birds, you're listening to shooting,” Mary Ann Ende said.
“You can hear it, but you've gotta listen for it. I mean it's just "da, da, da, da" off in the distance,” Boyd Davis, Single Action Shooters Society founder, said. “And heck, I think there's only one or two houses within a mile of the ranch. That particular facility is probably one of the most isolated and quiet facilities I've ever shot at.”
But the debate came without solution - at least for now.
County commissioners are expected to make a decision later this month.
