A teenager is accused of trying to hurt deputies and almost causing a car crash on a busy street.

A Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputy saw the 16-year-old running through traffic on Coors near Sequoia, nearly causing a crash Thursday afternoon.

The sheriff's office told KOB Eyewitness News 4 the deputy got out of his patrol car, and that's when the teen threw a brick at him.

The brick narrowly missed the deputy and hit the car's emergency light bar.

The teen took off running but was quickly caught.

As Albuquerque police officers were arresting him, they said the teen bit an officer’s hand.

He’s charged with aggravated battery on a police officer.
