Gov. makes appointment to 1st Judicial District Court bench.

Gov. Susana Martinez appointed Santa Fe attorney Francis Joseph Mathew to fill the First Judicial District Court bench vacancy left by the Barbara Vigil, who was elected to the state’s highest court in November.

Mathew is the owner of Mathew Law Firm in Santa Fe, where he has practiced since 2004, according to a prepared statement from the governor’s office.

Mathew has an extensive law background, with over 30 years of experience in commercial and domestic relations law. Mathew received his B.B.A and J.D from the University of Notre Dame.
