APS says parents of students in East Mountains schools can pick their children up early Monday because of heavy snow falling in the area.

This affects A. Montoya Elementary School, San Antonito Elementary School,  Roosevelt Middle School and Manzano High School students who live in the east mountains.

Manzano High students who drive themselves to school must get parent permission at the front office before leaving.

Schools will remain open and buses will run as usual, the district says.

Students whose parents who choose to pick their children up early will be granted an excused absence.

East Mountain High School, which is not an APS school, will close early Monday at 1:30 p.m.
