Accused terrorist found in Farmington

The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested an accused terrorist in Farmington, NM.

The Service arrested 33-year-old Alan Schilling Thursday. He has a warrant for his arrest for terrorism threats and threatening an elected official in Utah.

Schilling allegedly threatened the Gran County, Utah Sheriff and Utah State Highway Patrol clerks.

The Service’s Southwest Investigative Fugitive Team (SWIFT) task force, located in Farmington, was notified that Schilling was possibly en route the San Juan County area.

The task force located Schilling’s vehicle, draped with a tarp partially concealing it, parked near a homeless shelter in Farmington. Deputies found Schilling sleeping inside.

Schilling was taken into custody and booked into the San Juan County jail.
