Feds take over child porn case

The U.S. Attorney’s Office has taken over a child porn case involving a former YAFL president and educator.
Frederick Gonzales, 42, and his wife Carey Gonzales, 36, were arrested Jan. 11, on charges of manufacturing and distribution of child pornography. Both bonded out of jail Jan 12.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office, however, has adopted the case, and both Gonzaleses have been arrested again and booked on new federal charges of manufacturing and distribution of child pornography
Frederick Gonzales was the current elected YAFL , or Young America Football League, president for the Albuquerque District when he was arrested. He has since been ousted.
His wife Carey worked as an educational assistant at Montezuma Elementary School until Albuquerque Public Schools fired her Thursday. She has until Feb. 4 to appeal that decision.
