People in Albuquerque packed civic plaza Sunday to remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

A parade to honor King started at the intersection of University and Martin Luther King Dr. and ended at Civic Plaza.

One man KOB Eyewitness News 4 spoke with said there is still a lot of work to do to keep King's message alive.

"I think for us to realize any vision for a better society everyone has to kind of pitch in, in some way, shape or fashion so regardless of one's background we have a responsibility to contribute to that," attendee Matt Scholler said.

The African American Performing Arts Center will have a commemoration ceremony in honor of King at 6 p.m. Sunday.
