Neighbors are in shock after learning their neighbor's son is accused of shooting and killing five members of his own family.
"The two story house is their property," said Irma Morrison, pointing to the house behind hers.
About the only thing Morrison ever heard coming from her neighbor’s home were sounds of children splashing around in the pool in the backyard.
But neighbors heard something different Saturday night.
"One neighbor said that he was out on his property and heard arguing in the yard," said Morrison.
The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputies found a gruesome scene inside.
"I've been to homicide scenes, i've never seen a scene quite like this," said Lt. Shureke Covington.
Deputies found former pastor, Greg Griego, his wife and their three elementary school-age kids, a boy and two girls, shot to death.
Investigators say each victim was shot several times, with several types of guns, including an assault riffle.
The office believes the suspected shooter is 15-year-old Nehemiah Griego, the victim’s own son.
"From what I hear neighbors were kinda scared of the kid," South Valley activist Tony Padilla said.
Padilla said he never talked to the teen but did talk to Greg Griego a few times.
"He seemed to be real caring, but you don't know what's behind those doors all the time," said Padilla.
