Extra patrols were seen around McKinley Middle School Friday after someone pulled a gun on students earlier this week near the McKinley Community Center.

That’s according to a Jan. 25 letter from McKinley Principal Mary Cade obtained by KOB Eyewitness News 4.

In the letter, Cade alleges the incident occurred after school in the parking area near the center. She said two men and a woman in a white, four-door car approached the students, pulled out a gun and threatened to take one of the students’ iPod.

The students got away uninjured and reported the incident to police and school officials, according to the letter.

As a precaution extra patrols were around the school Friday.

Albuquerque Police tell KOB 4 the suspect in the incident is 20-year-old Anthony Montano.
