The White House is receiving plenty of feedback from a recent picture of President Obama firing a shotgun at skeet clay pigeons at Camp David in Maryland.
The photo was taken back in August 2012, but it was released Saturday before the president heads for Minnesota to start his gun control campaign.
Recent reaction to Obama's gun control proposals has caused gun sales to skyrocket across the country. Obama asked Congress to pass legislation for universal background checks on anyone buying a gun, banning assault rifles and banning all magazine clips with more than 10 rounds.
People in Albuquerque had plenty to say about the picture of the president shooting off some steam.
"I don't see anything wrong with it. He's shooting the rifle. It's not an assault weapon and it's not a full-clip magazine. So, he's not opposed to having guns, he's just trying to have some type of gun control," Mike Baldonado said.
"What all Obama's saying when it comes to that photo does kinda contradict what he's saying. But like I said, what American hasn't shot a rifle or a handgun," Michael Miller said.
Even someone at Caliber's Shooters Sport Center gave his opinion about the president shooting a shotgun before he fired off some rounds.
"I mean it just shows that he's a typical American. He's shooting guns. I don't think he ever said that no one should own guns, no one should shoot guns. He just wants to regulate things a little more," Andrew Griffin said.
