Border Patrol seizes hundreds of pounds of pot

The U.S. Border Patrol announced on Wednesday that numerous seizures of narcotics and cash were made over a 48-hour period in New Mexico.

The largest marijuana seizure was made in the Lordsburg area on Tuesday. Officials discovered 19 bundles of marijuana totaling 429 pounds near the base of Big Hatchet Mountain Range. A search of the area did not result in any arrests.

Altogether, 869 pounds of marijuana and $60,000 in suspected drug cash was seized during the 48-hour period. Additional narcotics were also seized.
