After the U.S. Postal Service announced that Saturday mail will end this August, local residents are reacting.

The change is expected to save the USPS $2 billion dollars a year.

We found that people of all ages seem to like their mail 6 days a week.

"I send all my rent in the mail.  I get my bills in the mail.  I don't do paperless because I forget.  It's a lot simpler to do mail, and plus we have the service.  I don't understand why people don't use it," college student Michelle Sandoval said.

"I'm very disappointed with it," retiree Elaine Cordova said.  "I enjoyed getting mail on Saturday and I know that a lot of other people look forward to the mail coming 6 days a week."

The local American Postal Workers Union also reacted to the news.  They told us they are not happy about the change, and say it will cut jobs as well make their busiest mail days even worse.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 tried contacting the local office for the U.S. Postal Service, but did not hear back.
