Lawmakers take up proposal to outlaw horse doping

Lawmakers are looking to crack down on horse doping.

Officials want horses, like athletes, to be tested for illegal substances.

The bill would provide the Racing Commission with $1 million per year for the testing.

The money would come from redirected horse-racing tax revenue that is now used to payoff bonds to improve the state fairgrounds
