LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Dona Ana County commissioners will consider a proposal Tuesday that would let certain year-round fireworks vendors to once again sell fireworks.
The Las Cruces Sun-News reports that the proposal would allow year-round fireworks retailers located within a quarter mile of an interstate exit ramp to sell fireworks to non-county residents only.
The proposal would require retailers to post a notice about the fact that certain types of fireworks aren't allowed to be possessed in Dona Ana County.
Retailers also would be required to ask buyers to show them a photo ID with an address outside Dona Ana County.
