Animal advocates offering reward after kitten injured in trap

Animal Protection of New Mexico is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of whoever set an illegal hold trap that caught and injured a kitten last week.
Placing a spring-loaded trap of any kind outdoors is illegal in Albuquerque.
Two of the kitten’s toes had to be amputated by a veterinarian at the Albuquerque Shelter Veterinary Clinic.
The kitten was found in the Thomas Village neighborhood near Rio Grande and Indian School. The area is near Rio Grande State Park and the Paseo del Bosque trail, a popular recreation area frequented by adults, children, dogs and protected wildlife.
