New Mexico Senators taking applications for US attorney

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - U.S. Sens. Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich are looking for candidates to be New Mexico's next top federal prosecutor.
The New Mexico Democrats will recommend to President Obama a short list of qualified candidates to replace U.S. Attorney Ken Gonzalez, who has been named to a federal judgeship in Santa Fe.
Once Gonzalez is confirmed by the Senate, the U.S. attorney post will become vacant.
Individuals who are interested in the position must complete and return an application to the senators' offices no later than March 4, 2013.
