Martinez appoints Romero to 5th District judgeship

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico's 5th Judicial District Court is getting a new judge. Gov. Susana Martinez has appointed Raymond Romero of Carlsbad to fill the vacancy created by Judge J. Richard Brown's retirement.

Romero is chief deputy district attorney in the 5th Judicial District.
