Our news partners at the Carlsbad Current-Argus report that an Artesia woman is aboard a troubled Carnival cruise ship that's expected to be pulled into an Alabama port Thursday.

The paper says Caroline Asher of Artesia is aboard the Triumph and last contacted her husband by phone Sunday, just after a fire knocked out power and sewer service to the massive ship.

Other passengers who have been able to get through to media and family members have said conditions on the ship are intolerable, with hot rooms, food shortages and leaking sewage.

The paper says Asher's husband Bob expects his wife to take a flight to Houston and then to Hobbs once the ship lands in Mobile.

He said he plans to throw a party when she gets back.
