ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say an Alamogordo man is in federal custody for allegedly growing a large amount of marijuana inside his home.

Alamogordo Department of Public Safety officials say 42-year-old Samuel Delgado is being held on suspicion of manufacturing of a controlled substance.

DPS officials say they found a large marijuana "grow room" after obtained a search warrant for Delgado's residence.

They reported finding more than 100 marijuana plants, equipment and materials for the growth and harvesting of plants, more than $11,000 in cash and 18 semi-automatic firearms.

The Otero County Narcotics Enforcement Unit also assisted in the investigation.

Authorities say Delgado was turned over federal drug agents for transportation to a facility Wednesday.

They didn't immediately know Thursday if Delgado has an attorney yet for his case.
