Semi-trucks and passenger cars lined Louisiana from I-40 to Lomas Monday afternoon. Many travelers stopped because I-40 Eastbound is their only option to get where they need to go, but it was closed since 9:00 Sunday night.

I-40 Eastbound was closed due to difficult weather from Albuquerque all the way to the Oklahoma and Texas state lines. Most people along the road slept in their cars and are now just playing a waiting game.

Word came late Monday that the closure will continue until at least 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning leaving many of these drivers - especially those in the trucking industry with deliveries to make - in a holding pattern.
