NM man gets probation for trespassing on refuge

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A Ruidoso man has been sentenced to one year of probation and fined $2,500 for trespassing on the San Andres National Wildlife Refuge during a hunting trip.
Prosecutors say 46-year-old Kenneth Espinosa was sentenced Wednesday in Albuquerque.
Espinosa and another man were separately charged separately with trespassing on National Wildlife Refuge System land in December 2010.
He was convicted after a one-day bench trial on Dec. 14, 2011.
Authorities say Espinoza was employed as a guide by a Ruidoso-based company specializing in big-game hunting expeditions.
He was accused of guiding a Georgia man on an Oryx hunting trip on the White Sands Missile Range when they entered the San Andres refuge on Jan. 7, 2006.
During the expedition, authorities say the Georgia man killed a bull Oryx.
