ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A Santa Fe businessman arrested on drug charges has been released from jail.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that 29-year-old Ashraf Nassar was arrested after police say they found 32 pounds of packaged marijuana and other drugs in a raid on his house.

Bond was initially set at $2.5 million, but Nassar's attorney persuaded a judge to reduce it to $500,000.

The judge accepted about $220,000 in property and cash as bond.

Ashraf Nassar owns the Heavenly Boutique in downtown Santa Fe.

His attorney, Tom Clarke, argued his client is a U.S. citizen who wasn't at risk of fleeing from authorities.

Nassar is charged with distribution of marijuana, distribution of hashish, illegal possession of the prescription drug Oxycontin and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
